I guess it wouldn't bother people who would rather play a medieval game with 18th century dressed soldiers, but that's all the mod does, it paints a picture of 18th century warfare but takes away the (admittedly unpolished) 18th century gameplay in the base game. It's as if Darth fell out of a book of bad 18th century myths and looked at the musket as a spear with an optional and unreliable firing mechanism rather than a standard-performing firearm with an always present but rarely used bayonet. Furthermore, the mod puts an emphasis on melee, which (outside of seige defenses, ambushes, and anti-cavalry) was NOT the emphasized method of combat in the 18th century, almost NEVER happened in the open field.

It nerfs the effective range of muskets in line infantry combat to such a laughable exaggeration that even when I move my line to point blank range (within 100 meters) only a few men die every volley.

DM changes the mechanics of the game, but for the worse.
